As I promised:

Finally i am coming through on something that i promised!! :D i'm going to type all my journals for Hungary! YAY!! This is going to take a while so at the end of my journals i might add some blurbs about what i am doing now lol. so here it is, as promised, my first journal for hungary:

Sitting in the airport in London. Security in the UK is tighter than the US. Its bizarre. i thought we were bad, our security is pretty lax, here they check your liquids twice and my bag got checked for chemicals, at least here they don't make you take off your shoes- i really hate that.
on a separate note: There was a large group of mormons on the plane on the way here... they are going to Vatican City to convert the Catholics... like all of them? They are going for 2 years and are self-funded. Mormons scare me. I've been to Salt Lake City and i though they were strange there. That's besides the point though. It was interesting ti see all the different kind of people flying with us. you always forget how different the world is when you are at Spring Arbor.

Arrival in Budapest was interesting. I was stuck at customs for 15 minutes. just standing there... It was so awkward. i must give off some kind of vibe- at every airport i was checked for something, but i digress. one thing that i did a lot of today was people watching. the people here dress differently and walk with more confidence than we do. i'm going to say that's more of a city trait though. people in chicago have that same "air" about them. its the "Why are you in my way and in my city" air. so far the biggest thing that i'm going to have to conquer is ordering food... communicating is so difficult. it makes me a little afraid of leaving Rob (the prof leading the trip). i want to explore, i just need to put myself out there a little more is all. but its only day one and i feel like exhaustion was getting in the way of really experiencing ordering food. on the bright side we met a very nice french man who sold us pizza.
Another side note: Showering here is totally interesting and difficult... i made a total mess in the bathroom :D
